Solana Labs has officially announced the launch of the Seeker, its second crypto smartphone, which is expected to ship in 2025. Unveiled at the Token2049 event in Singapore, the Seeker promises significant improvements in both hardware and software compared to its predecessor, the Saga.

Seeker’s Key Features
In an announcement on X, Emmet Hollyer, head of the Solana Mobile project, expressed excitement about the device, stating, “We’ve been deep in build mode for months.” The Seeker aims to provide a more seamless crypto experience, featuring a specialized wallet integrated with the proprietary Seed Vault key storage for enhanced security.

The Seeker is designed as a Web3 device, boasting a sleek build, upgraded camera, extended battery life, and a more affordable price point than the Saga. A standout feature is the Seed Vault, which offers top-tier security for digital assets. Developed in collaboration with Solflare, the new wallet allows users to execute crypto transactions effortlessly with a simple double tap.

Exclusive Benefits and Developer Opportunities
Each Seeker will come with a Seeker Genesis Token, granting VIP access to exclusive rewards within the Solana ecosystem. The phone’s infrastructure is expected to attract developers interested in building decentralized applications (dApps), decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions, and gaming projects.

The fee-free dApp store is another highlight, differentiating it from traditional app marketplaces like Apple’s App Store and Google Play. This store is specifically designed for crypto-related applications, opening opportunities for users to engage with DeFi, payments, NFTs, and decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN).

Enhanced User Engagement
The Seeker’s AI integration allows users to create tokenized AI agents for on-chain interactions, enhancing engagement and earning potential within the community. Gamers will also benefit from exclusive Web3 games and limited edition rewards, including unique assets from Parallel Colony, available only in the dApp store. Additionally, Helius Labs’ Airship tool significantly reduces airdrop costs, making token distribution 4,000 times cheaper.

Hollyer noted that the Seeker will improve tracking of users’ token rewards and is anticipated to create numerous earning opportunities. He mentioned, “Tons of teams are reaching out” to build on this platform, with 100,000 units of the new phone already presold.

To celebrate the upcoming release, Solana Mobile is offering the Seeker at a promotional price of $450 through its Founder Window, available until the end of the Breakpoint conference on September 21.
